I say that b\/c think of all the tested writing prompts you have had. how many of them were ever really generalizable to you? not many. so that's where i ask my students to really get into some good fiction pieces-not just narrative. so many teachers focus on narrative and nonfiction writing that they totally miss the opportunity to help children ace writing examines. if it is going to be BS at least make it really really interesting BS :)","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"20476529","body":"Yeah, I saw some of that happen this week. They have been taking the writing process step-by-step. They got a chance to write about their snow day. Some complained about not being able to go out and play. The teacher said use your imagination. She told them to make sure it was believable.
